Principal & Founder

I am delighted to introduce myself and share the passion that has guided my journey in Montessori education.

Eighteen years ago, becoming a mother opened my heart to the profound beauty of early childhood development. As I searched for the right environment for my son, I discovered Montessori — a philosophy that immediately resonated with my values and inspired a lifelong commitment.

I began with the Montessori 3–6 certification and later expanded my studies to include Birth–3, giving me a deep understanding of the full continuum of early childhood. These experiences strengthened my belief in every child's natural ability to learn when surrounded by respect, purpose, and a thoughtfully prepared environment.

For more than a decade, I worked in this very building as part of the MCI Preschool community. I served as an assistant teacher, lead guide, substitute director, and assistant director — building strong relationships with families and witnessing the incredible growth of many children. Returning to this same community fills me with pride, gratitude, and renewed purpose.

Today, I am honored to serve as the Executive Director of Mile High Montessori Early Childhood Education LLC.

My mission is to create a peaceful, inclusive, and joyful Montessori environment where children thrive, families feel supported, and educators are empowered to bring Montessori to life with integrity and love.

Thank you for welcoming me back into a community that has shaped both my heart and my career. I look forward to continuing this meaningful work together.

Mandarin Language Teacher

Weiyu Foster (Sophy) is a native Mandarin speaker from Northern China with over 25 years of experience teaching Mandarin to learners of all ages — with a special passion for young children.

She holds a degree in Language Teaching Education from Chifeng University and a Postgraduate Certificate in Human Resources Management from Hong Kong International Business College. Her professional credentials include a Secondary School Teacher Qualification Certificate from the Ministry of Education of China, an Early Childhood Professional Credential, and a Director–Large Center Certificate from the Colorado Department of Early Childhood.

Miss Sophy brings a rare combination of formal training in language education and decades of hands-on experience working with young learners. She understands how children learn best — through play, repetition, music, and meaningful interaction — and she brings warmth, patience, and creativity to every lesson. Her goal is not just to teach Mandarin, but to spark a genuine love for the language in each child.

Most recently, Miss Sophy taught at a Montessori preschool, where she refined her approach to immersive, child-centered language instruction. She is thrilled to join the MHME team and looks forward to guiding young learners on their Mandarin journey.

When she's not in the classroom, Miss Sophy loves spending time outdoors — hiking, biking, snowshoeing, boating, fishing, and camping.

Pre-Primary Lead Teacher

I am so happy to introduce myself and share a little about my journey in early childhood education.

I am a bilingual educator with a deep passion for nurturing the youngest learners. My path in early childhood began with infant care and grew through hands-on experience in Montessori classrooms — and with every step, my love for this work has only deepened.

Most recently, I served as Lead Teacher at The Nest School, where I managed daily classroom operations, planned age-appropriate activities to support children's cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development, and created an environment that fostered independence and confidence. Before that, I worked as a Teacher Assistant at Montessori Casa Internacional, where I supported lead guides in implementing Montessori principles, preparing lessons, and building meaningful relationships with families.

I am committed to growing as an educator and have completed Early Childhood Education coursework at Red Rocks Community College while continuing my professional development through Colorado Shines PDIS. I believe that when children feel safe, respected, and joyfully engaged, they are capable of extraordinary growth.

I am thrilled to join the MHME family as the Pre-Primary Lead Teacher and look forward to building warm connections with your children and families. Together, we will create a space where every child feels seen, supported, and inspired to explore.

Thank you for welcoming me into this wonderful community!
